Teresa Latter, Manager, RHI Group
Teresa Latter has more than nine years’ experience in recruitment and last year was appointed Manager, Australia West and Asia for professional services consultancy rhi.
With a passion for mining, minerals and resources she welcomes the opportunity to help the industry and connect professionals.
Teresa has been a member of the Petroleum Club of WA for just over a year and believes the club keeps the industry in touch with the market by giving members the opportunity to network and connect with other professionals.
Given her passion for supporting future generations, she is an advocate for the Next Generation Program and says the Petroleum Club of WA is “insightful, inclusive, engaging and has a key drive to promote, educate and develop our young professionals”.
Teresa commenced her career within recruitment from high school, initially working as a resource administrator before discovering her passion for recruitment. Six months later she was working in recruitment, where she supported the growth of a contractor workforce from 30 to 90.
“Keen to expand my capabilities and progress my career, I took an opportunity at Toll Group where I was responsible for delivering staffing for Toll and major external clients across transport, logistics and mining,” Teresa said.
In 2013 she moved into a client-facing role and became the on-site team leader responsible for a 160-strong contractor workforce.
She joined rhi in 2018 as an account manager. Her team delivers resourcing strategies across a vast array of clients in the mining, energy and resources sector. Within 12 months she helped to grow rhi’s contractor workforce in WA from 80 to 200 and successfully established strong partnerships within the region.
She was seconded to a major project with mining and minerals solutions company Wood to provide resources for all elements of EPCM during which she engaged with various industry professionals across the mining, minerals and resources sector.
Teresa was appointed Manager, Australia West and Asia in May last year.
“It has been my focus to lead and develop our local recruitment team and support project services,” Teresa said.
“My drive is to work with our customers to create solutions and connect them with the right people and services to benefit the growth of their business.”
Teresa believes her persistence and resilience have given her the confidence to seek opportunities and trust her own abilities.
“The key to my success so far has been due to the power of networking,” she said. “With a passion to establish and build strong relationships and my authenticity, I am confident that this has helped shape where I am today”.
Teresa is a trained mental health champion, promoting awareness of mental health in the workforce and also advocating for equality, diversity and inclusion across the industry.
Outside work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, preferably being outdoors camping and four-wheel driving.
