The Gas Speak Colloquium is a nationally recognised three-day development program for early-career professionals in the gas and energy industry. Proudly sponsored by AGIT, this unique opportunity builds capability in public speaking, energy advocacy, and cross-sector collaboration—empowering emerging leaders to shape the future of Australia’s energy sector.
We're pleased to bring this exciting event to WA, combining practical skills training with high-level exposure to industry leaders and policy discussion. For over 40 years, this event has helped launch the careers of many of today’s energy executives and innovators.

This program is ideal for early-career professionals working in any part of the gas value chain—production, transmission, distribution, retail, appliances, energy policy, and research. Delegates come from a wide range of roles including engineering, operations, strategy, communications, commercial, and more.
AGIT encourages a broad cross-section of industry representation. All nominations will be reviewed with the goal of achieving diversity across sectors, companies, and job functions.

Selected delegates are expected to:

Attend the full program from Sunday evening 16 November to Wednesday 19 November 2025 in Canberra

Prepare and deliver an individual presentation, including an 8-minute PowerPoint developed prior to the event. The presentation should be based on a topic relevant to your role and experience and connected to the gas industry.

Participate in group exercises, mentoring, and all scheduled activities

Engage actively and professionally throughout the event
While no formal selection criteria apply, AGIT will consider the following when reviewing nominations:
- The nominee is in the early stages of their career
- The nominee is identified by their organisation as a future leader
- The nominee shows genuine interest in contributing to the future of the gas and energy industry
- Broad industry representation is a priority – AGIT aims to include participants from all industry sectors and a mix of company sizes and roles
- Multiple nominations from one organisation are welcome, but final selections will be made in consultation with company managers if numbers exceed available placements
All final selections are made by AGIT in the spirit of Gas Speak.
