Member Under The Microscope: Ian Marshall
Ian Marshall’s love of sports has gained him many friends since moving to Australian in 2014.
“I love football, as in the round-ball type, both playing for my local masters team, UWA Nedlands, and watching the beautiful game,” said Marshall who has worked in the industry for the last 18 years.
“I have worked within the offshore oil and gas industry across the world and have been lucky enough to work and live in countries such as UK, Norway, Singapore and Holland.”
Before the move Marshall was introduced to Atlas Professionals as they acquired a 25 per cent stake in Subserv before Marshall left the company for green and gold shores and have since acquired 100 per cent of Subserv. Here in Australia, Marshall has found a job that he loves as Business Development Manager at Atlas Professionals Asia Pacific (APAC).
“I worked with Atlas Professionals for two years as the only representative here, focusing on strengthening relationships and forging partnerships with oil and gas professionals across Australia and APAC,” said the committed family man who adores his wife and five children.
Atlas Professionals started life in 1982 under the name Atlas Transport Services and became Atlas Personnel Service in 1986. From this start, they have grown to become a global supplier of custom-made HR packages for the energy and marine industries that take the stress away from organising manpower. They understand that qualified professionals can be hard to find, and as such they have 20 offices in 16 countries.
In 2017, a 50/50 Joint Venture was formed with Programmed Marine for offshore and marine manning services in Australia and New Zealand.
“I am a part of the company that globally provides the best people for some of the most challenging projects in the world.”
Marshall has already begun to get a feel for the Petroleum Club, despite having only been a member for a few months.
“I really like the diverse array of clients and the openness to work in partnerships between the PCWA and members,” Marshall explained.
“I like the professional feel and dedication of the staff and its members to create a positive culture within the Oil and Gas market.”
